**E-Mail Account Updates**
In an effort to avoid problems with the newest generations of computer malware, worms and
viruses and their ability to send mass emails from user’s computers, we are now going to
require authentication to send email.
These changes should be applied
immediately.
Setting up Outlook Express for our new settings:
1)After opening
Outlook Express, choose the ‘tools’ menu at the top and go to ‘accounts’.
2)Choose your Citizens email account, which will likely be listed as
“mail.wpa.net” and click on the ‘properties’ button
3)With the mail properties screen up, you will want to select the ‘servers’ tab.
4)From here you will only need to select the box which reads “My server requires
authentication”
5)Click ‘Apply’ and ‘OK’ and the setup should be finished. You should notice no
changes in the way you send or receive email, but you will be compatible with
the new server settings when they are changed.

These Directions apply only for Outlook Express. Changing the settings in MS Outlook and other email programs will be different, but should be similar in requiring authentication for outgoing email.
