Next Meeting will be on January 13

The next meeting of the stamp club will be January 13.  This will be our annual Christmas-New Year Party.  Stamp Club Christmas Punch will be provided as well as coffee and tea.  Please bring cookies for the table.  The hall is open from 1 pm, the meeting starts at 2:15pm.

 Jenny Invert Record High Sale 

The Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries sold the Jenny invert (Scott C3a) for a record high $850,000 plus 15% buyer’s premium on November 14.  The total $977,500 purchase was made by a “private collector”.   But don’t worry if you were outbid.  Another copy of the stamp will be available at auction on December 18 at the Earl Apfelbaum sale.  Good luck bidding!


New Stamp Store Opens in Monroeville

There is a new stamp dealer in town.  Just opened in Monroeville at 4004 William Penn Hwy.. (near the Miracle Mile).  The Monroeville location will sell mostly coins, but a phone call to the South Hills shop at 1687 Washington Road (800-259-4727) with a want list will bring just about anything you want to Monroeville.  The phone number of the Monroeville store is 412-374-9991. These are the same people that ran the stamp shop in Gimbles years ago.  This is their third store.  They also have a store at 10925 Perry Hwy. In Wexford (800-545-6604).  Hours for the Monroeville store: Mon. – 10-6; Tue. to Fri. – 9-4; Sat. – 10-3
