APPALACHIAN WAGON TRAIN

Mail Program
P.O. Box 76, Norvelt, PA 15674

The Appalachian Wagon Train has offered a mail program annually since 1984. The program is free (except postage).  The wagon train receives mail at the beginning of its trek and delivers the mail to the postmaster at the end of the trek for delivery to the address on the envelope.  The program has been very successful.  We have carried mail destined for every state, most provinces of Canada and most European nations as well as countries in South America, Asia and Africa.

2003 Mail Program

On Sunday June 15, 2003 an actual retired RFD mail buggy was recommissioned and in harness for the Rockwood post office to deliver the wagon train general delivery mail to the campsite .  The Rockwood post office is to be commended for making a delivery on Sunday evening and on Father's day no less.  The post office certainly fulfilled its commitment "We Deliver".

The mail arrives in a restored RFD buggy Delivery of the mail
